Collaboration-Model_Academic

Multiple labs within a university (or other academic or research institution) working on separate or related initiatives with (or without) external organizations.

The Academic model illustrates a university interacting with internal and external collaborators. For example, an academic core facility may perform tests for a variety of scientists and research organizations within the institution — though they are with the same parent organization, their work must be kept separate.

In addition, the university facility may also perform tests for outside organizations, or it may co-develop a technology with a commercial R&D organization. The institution may also be involved in cutting-edge research for research consortiums.
