A big thank you to all of our customers: you made Launch2015, our third annual User Group Meeting, a great success. The event doubled in size from last year, with two training streams, two keynote speakers and standing room only for featured presentations.
Core Informatics Launch2015 Business Update
Core’s management team kicked off Launch2015 by highlighting achievements from 2015 and outlining the future.
Core CEO, Josh Geballe, shared several large announcements from 2015. Core released an award winning new product – Core Collaboration – and launched the Platform for Science Marketplace, an ever-expanding marketplace of preconfigured apps available for a variety of fields of study. Core also won “Best of Show” at BioIT World and became a Gartner Cool Vendor, as well as being named to the Inc. 5000 and the Marcum Tech Top 40.
In 2015, Core continued its strong growth, signing up many new customers and hiring more employees to support customer success around the world. Though Core is expanding, its focus remains firmly on the customer. The Customer Success team continues to make up approximately 50% of the company. Core has also heavily invested in product development with many additional programmers, quality engineers and application managers joining the team. Many of Core’s new members have come from legacy competitors, life sciences companies and former customers.
In 2015 Core was also in the news for a new round of funding from Oak HC/FT, in a partnership which will accelerate some of Core’s long term goals. Core has the flexibility to be aggressive, to be opportunistic, and to weather any storm. The mission: to speed scientific breakthroughs and improve the world around us with a transformational software platform.
This year’s UGM was an opportunity for customers and Core Customer Success Team members to meet face to face. Classes, discussions and a special evening event at the Boston Museum of Science all gave attendees a chance to share information, and meet with each other and their Core contacts.
This year’s UGM presenters spoke about the opportunities and challenges to creating innovative healthcare companies, as well as developing the drugs which could someday save lives. Presenters also discussed sequencing techniques and data tracking, as well as how to effectively share information with internal and external partners. Overall the presentations were highly informative and entertaining, scoring top marks in the post event surveys. Attendees learned not only from the speakers, but from each other. Launch organizers listened to customer feedback and are happy to announce there will be more official “customer conversation sessions” at next year’s event.
Some customers took the time at Launch to suggest new applications and system configurations, while others took advantage of Core team at hand, pulling up their systems to discuss updates and potential new configurations.
