Growing to Meet Customer Needs
2017 was quite a year for Core Informatics…
In March, we were acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific, becoming “Core Informatics, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific.” The Platform for Science, has found a good home. We’re excited to be a part of this new organization, and to have a broader base of capabilities to help our customers achieve your lab informatics goals in 2018!
We say this every year, but Launch2017 was bigger and better than ever. We were already on track to have larger than ever attendance before we decided to combine the user group meeting with the rest of our Digital Science team. We would like to thank our customer presenters from Amgen Inc., the Jackson Laboratory, BioBank AS, Cell Signaling Technology, and UTSouthwestern. We are already planning Launch2018, and will be sharing more information soon.
To help you to navigate our expanding offerings, we launched the Resources Portal – a quick place to go for brochures, webinars, case studies, and videos, while our blog is still the best place to go for information on new app releases and scientific insight. This year we also brought you the Core Developer Portal (beta) to give you greater insight into how to use our standards-based OData API and create applications for the Platform for Science.
To meet your requests, we are continuing to develop and add new applications to the Platform for Science Marketplace. We will have over 100 apps by the end of the year. We have solution sets for a growing number of areas of study, as well as solutions specific to technologies, such as Axiom Microarray, Ion Torrent and Illumina. Make sure to keep checking the Marketplace to see what new applications will help you ring in the new year.
Over the years, our customers and partners have grown with us. You have shared our passion and we have shared yours. You have seen our excitement for the future—a fully connected digital lab. Now, by joining with Thermo Fisher, we are closer than ever to making it a reality. Thank you for your support in 2017, and we look forward to a successful year of teamwork again in 2018!
